Summary: For those of us PSP's
Details: Some of us who want to convert music to smaller psp-capable formats use SonicStage. It's a real shame that foxy doesn't pick it up. This normally wouldn't be a problem but my WMP playback on mp3's is crap and I don't know why so this leaves me with SonicStage as my only player.

SonicStage 3.4 |
Summary: Wouldn't use if my NW-HD5 worked with anything else
Details: The only reason I use SonicStage is that my NW-HD5 Mp3 player will only work with Sonicstage. It stalls, it's slow, it uses beastly amounts of RAM, but the sound quality is tremendous (and it is reasonably nice looking) so I can put up with it long enough to transfer the files to my mp3 player. It only plays WAV, MP3, ATRAC and WMA.
Pros: Excellent audio quality, necessary for (equally excellent) Sony mp3 players
Cons: Atrocious program
Period used: Over 3 years (used it with my minidisc before I got the NW-HD5)
Other products used: WMP, iTunes, RealPlayer, JetAudio, dbPowerAMP, Winamp, Quicktime, Media Player Classic, VLC

SonicStage 3.4 |
Summary: A great player with a cool interface
Details: This player has a very good system for linking to all Sony based MP3 or atrac players, including the PSP. Despite the lack of iPod support, SonicStage more than makes up for this with the small file sizes and good quality of the atrac files.
Pros: Best player for use with PSP
Cons: Fairly high memory usage
Period used: 6 months

SonicStage 4.0 |
Summary: Potentially Great, but Handcuffed
Details: Sonicstage, when it works is quite good. It has some innovative features and, even though it can be frustrating, ATRAC3plus does sound really good, especially at the low and high extremes. Still - it's unstable, inexplicably ruins files, clunky and definitely not as user-friendly as iTunes or even Windows Media Player. Why not hire some decent programmers? Or is Sony short on money>
Pros: Amazing sound quality, some cool features.
Cons: Unstable, slooooow and not as user-friendly as others.

Summary: Good Simple to use. Great Audio, Cool Look
Details: Solid reliable piece of music player software. the interface is different but simple to use. the options are there, online store (connect) if you want to buy music, or import it from cd or file. the main library holds all music info the player knows. and transfer can make cd's (mp3 or atrac3plus), or import it to your psp or sonywalkman player (hdd or flash versions). it's stable, if a little processer heavey, but it does have a mini mode. lots of options to make it more your player.
Pros: Works with PSP, Aw3000 for song transfers
Cons: Playing all songs by a artist can be awkward
