J.River Media Center 10 (soon to be 11) |
Details: Too early to make constructive criticisms (just installed it). Confused on why players show up in Player>Select and also in Player>Options. Can't get it to work with Media Center at the moment, but does work with WMP (yuk!). Have WinAmp 2.91 and 1by1 1.45. Programs must have to have a Registry entry cause it won't fire up WinAmp...which exists on HD but hasn't been reinstalled since XP sidegrade (refuse to call it an upgrade, many glitches compared to W2k).
Pros: Has alot of potential
Cons: Not very useable for me yet
Period used: starting 9/16/04

J.River Media Center 8.0 |
Summary: Awesome Music Player and Organier
Details: Only drawbac is when it comes to video it is limited. MJ8 is now free, but J.River hs also ome out with Media Center which utterly amazing in all it can do. I bought MC10 for my desktop(which is supported by FoxyTunes), but still use MJ8 on my laptop since it is free(FoxyTunes supports MJ7, but not MJ8 :( -hopefully to change.)
Pros: Best organization of music files, and all formats supported. Excellent tools encluded for recording and editing files as well as the standard rip/burn tools. ++too much to mention
Cons: Limited video file support. Lack of inovative pic/vid organization. All problems are however solved in Media Center.
Period used: 2000 to present used Media Jukebox of some version
Other products used: WMP, WinAmp, MusicMatch, Real Player, iTunes, Rhapsody and some oters

J.River Media Center 11 |
Summary: Ganz good
Details: Hey, I use your plugi w/MC11, which btw is great softwear. However you haven't implied it as well as it could be. Did you know mjextman.exe? It's a commandline interface for MC which can control pretty much everything in the player. Should be useful when you make better support for MC in the next version. check it out here:www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/DevZone/CommandLine.html
Pros: It's in firefox !
Cons: need better support for JR MC

J.River Media Center 11 |
Summary: An amazingly versatile player, and organizer of all your media files.
Details: While the player is the best around, the organizational aspects of this player are what makes it really shine. Of course, the reason I bought the software was not because of its great features. Rather, it was because of the amazing development team and the speedy fix they provided for a problem I was having tagging my mp3s. I reported a bug, and it was fixed the very next day! I was impressed, and started to read their Interact support forums. I quickly realized that I was not the only one finding incredible support... better than any I had previously witnessed. So I was happy to hand them some of my money so that they could continue their work.
Pros: Amazing customizability and far more features than any other player
Cons: There are so many features, there are probably a lot of them that you won't use.
Period used: 4 years (approx.)
Other products used: Winamp, Musicmatch Jukebox, RealOne Player, Sonique, Window Media Player (none of these come close to J. River Media Center)

I can organize all my music, photo's and documents in one place. MC supports all the major file types and players. As for any questions new users or old might have, the support forum is second to none with the programmers themselves participating and always ready to lend a hand.
