Yahir Othón Parra, commonly known as Yahir, is a Mexican singer born on March 21, 1979 in Hermosillo, Sonora. He began his career as one of the participants in the music reality show "La Academia" in 2002 and is perhaps the most popular singer to come out of the show. He is also a television actor for TV Azteca and has appeared in two telenovelas (the mexican soap operas). He has also recorded two hit albums, Yahir (2002) and Otra Historia de Amor (2004) and is currently preparing his third album. Since he has won various awards for his music.
