Willy DeVille, singer and songwriter, was born William Borsay in Stamford, Connecticut on August 25, 1950. As a teenager, his band Billy and the Kids was reviled and despised by the soulless and mindless teenagers of Stamford. Eventually, he moved to New York City, where, along with his band Mink DeVille, he was a pioneer of punk rock music and one of the original house bands at CBGB, the New York nighclub where punk rock music was born.

DeVille lives in New Orleans and Mississippi.
