Watchtower is a progressive technical thrash band based in Austin, Texas that was mostly active in the 1980s. Their debut album, Energetic Disassembly, was released in 1985. The album is notable for its heavy use of time changes and is considred to be a landmark in progressive metal.

In 1989 Watchtower released a second album, Control and Resistance, with Ron Jarzombek handling the guitar duties.
