Vivian Patrick Campbell was born in August 25, 1963 in Belfast. He emereged as a proficient shredding style guitarist in the early 80's; first with the Irish rock band Sweet Savage, then with Dio.

After his time with Dio, Vivian had numerous stints with other bands: Whitesnake, Trinity, Riverdogs and Shadow King. He also played on Lou Gramm's second solo album Long Hard Look.
