Vain are a Glam Metal band formed in San Francisco in 1989, at the last wave of the Glam Metal era, and in a time when the cities main musical export was Trash Metal slowly changing to Old Skool Punk. The band were formed by vocalist Davy Vain, and were signed to fledging Island Records in 1989 upon the release of their debut album 'No Respect' that same year. The band also embarked on a European Tour in support of Skid Row. However, things were to take a turn for the worst, and it wouldnt be Grunge which claimed this Hair Metal casualty, but finance, as their label collapsed in 1991 before the band could release their 2nd studio album 'All Those Strangers'.
