Born in the United Kingdom Gane's musical influences are wide-ranging and generally lie outside the rock mainstream: the krautrock of Neu! and Faust; the sunshine pop of Brian Wilson, Wendy & Bonnie and The Zombies; Brazilian bossa nova composer Antonio Carlos Jobim; soundtrack composers Ennio Morricone and Roy Budd; and classical composers such as Gustav Holst and Claude Debussy.
