The Lords of the New Church are a Gothic rock band originally formed in 1982. The band featured a line-up of Stiv Bators (formerly of The Dead Boys — lead vocals), Brian James (formerly of The Damned — guitar & vocals), Dave Tregunna (formerly of Sham 69 — bass & vocals) and Nicky Turner (formerly of The Barracudas — drums & vocals).

The band recorded three albums and a collection of B-sides. On May 2 1989, Bators sacked the entire band live on stage at the London Astoria.
