Started in 1979 after the break-up of Kuepper's former band, The Saints, the group featured many different musicians on a variety of instruments, including double bass, piano and a brass section. Usually referred to as jazz punk by critics, the group's songs were often constructed around complicated structures, difficult timings and sometimes seemingly off-key melodies.
