Kane Gang is a soul/funk trio that had a few minor UK hits and one US hit in the '80s.

Vocalists Martin Brammer and Paul Woods and multi-instrumentalist Dave Brewis formed the trio in 1982 in northern England, after meeting in small local bands, and signed to a small label, which led to London Records sigining them in 1984. Their debut album, Bad and Lowdown World of the Kane Gang (released in the US as Lowdown), was released the next year, and spawned two UK hit singles, "Closest Thing To Heaven" (#12), and "Respect Yourself" (#21). Their next album, Miracle, released in 1987, failed to spawn any UK hits or charting singles, but spawned a US hit single, "Motortown" (#36), and another charting single, "Don't Look Any Further" (#64).
