The Ides of March was an early '70s band that hit it big with the song, Vehicle, in 1970.

The Ides of March evolved from a Chicago band that was first called the Shy Lads, and then the Shondels, and had recorded a single for Epitone Records. It adopted a name based on Shakespeare's Julius Caesar to become the Ides of March in the mid-1960s with Jim Peterik as lead singer. The band was signed to London Records imprint Parrot Records and first charted with You Wouldn't Listen and Roller Coaster in the fall of 1966. In 1969, a full horn section was added to the band making their sound resemble the sound of horn rock bands like Blood, Sweat and Tears, and less like the Beatles and The Ventures, of whom the band's earlier work had been influenced by.
