The Farm is a band from Liverpool, UK. They were popular through the early nineties, their album Spartacus storming to #1 in the UK album charts when it was released in April 1991, and the band are seen to be influenced by the Madchester movement.

The Farm originally was a band unofficially called Soul of Socialism, in the early 1980s. This band was comprised of Peter Hooton, Steve Grimes and two others, one of whom (Andy McVann) was killed in a 1986 car chase, running away from the police. With a changing line-up, they released four Indie singles but failed to earn themselves a big break until 1990.
