The Duke Spirit are an English rock band. They were formed in London in February 2003. Their genre within rock is probably best described as garage rock, although their sound also incorporates elements of blues-rock as well.

Spirit fans would say the band play a brand of scuzzy, bluesy rock and roll, with simple, crunching riffs complimented by Liela's sultry yet authoritative croon. Their music is rarely very complicated but fans would say this adds to the intensity and catchiness of it. Detractors might point to the over-simplistic riffs and occasionally suspect lyrics. Live, the band have received some rave reviews, the music press often holding Liela in especially high regard for her magnetic and charismatic performances as frontwoman. The NME, not noted for their generosity, gave the Spirit 10/10 in their first live review of them and have continued to praise the band's gigs.
