The Accüsed are a Hardcore Punk/Thrash band from Seattle, WA.

The Accused were formed in 1981 in Oak Harbor, Washington by bassist Chibon Batterman and guitarist Tom Niemeyer. With the addition of Blaine Cook (frontman of Seattle Hardcore group The Fartz) in 1984, they progressed towards a more metal sound. The band dubbed their unique style - distinguished by Blaine's unusual vocals (which sound as if he's being choked), fuzz guitars, dark metallic riffs, and droning punkish drumming - as "Splattercore". The band recorded five full length albums between their inception and their long hiatus which lasted through most of the 90's. The band has since regrouped, recorded a new album, and is currently active. The Accused are considered to be important progenitors of the Thrashcore style that bridged the gap between Thrash and Hardcore and birthed more extreme varieties of the punk-metal amalgam such as Crustcore, and Grindcore.
