On the forefront of British underground hiphop; Taskforce hail from the Highbury Estate, London. With a core membership of brothers Chester P and Farma G, the Taskforce name has also been taken up by DJ Louis Slipperz, Eno Red Rum, Ramson Badbones and Remus, Farma's young son. Taskforce have a back catalogue of substantial length, although it consists for the most part of vinyl-only EPs and singles, mix CDs and the under-produced Music From The Corner series of home-made albums. The closest they have to a true album release is the New Mic Order LP, produced with Blade's ex-DJ Mark B and featuring guest spots from Skinnyman and Mr. Thing. Their music has been acclaimed for its rawness in telling harsh tales of inner city life and its honesty in confessing of spiritual yearning for a return to nature, a position not often held in the materialistic world of hip-hop. Chester P was also a founding member of Mud Family, alongside Skinnyman and Mongo, and the Bury Crew. He continues to make appearances on the former's irregular releases alongside his brother, while having cut ties with Bury Crew to concentrate on his other projects.
