Sutcliffe Jügend, also known as SJ, is an industrial/noise band composed of Kevin Tomkins and Paul Taylor. It started out circa 1980 as a power electronics band initially influenced by Throbbing Gristle and similar outfits. Initially "FPSC" and "Death Squad", they broke off and recorded in their own right, and around 1981-2, recorded enough to attract the attention of the Come Organisation - this would be around the time that Whitehouse commenced Live Actions. About 1982, Tomkins and Taylor approached the Come Organisation to release something SJ-wise. The founder of Come Organisation, William Bennett, then asked Kevin Tomkins to join Whitehouse full-time, and Come Organisation released the 10 cassette "We Spit On Their Graves", which was at the time was the ne plus ultra of staggering offensiveness. Subsequently this is a much-respected and much-requested work.
