Shy Child is a band from New York City consisting of Pete Cafarella on vocals and keytar and Nate Smith on drums. The duo was formed in New York in the summer of 2000, Cafarella and Smith having previously played together in the band El Guapo (later named Supersystem). The band played for years in New York, and began playing steadily in the U.K. during 2006 alongside such bands as Klaxons and Soulwax. They toured the U.S. supporting Hot Chip in the autumn of 2006, and supported Klaxons in the U.K. in May 2007. They played on the Xfm stagen at the O2 wireless festival in Hyde Park on June 16th 2007. They supported Muse at Wembley Stadium on June 17, 2007. In the summer of 2006, they signed with U.K. label Wall of Sound. Their most recent album, 'Noise Won't Stop', was released in the U.K. on May 21, 2007.
