Shape of Despair is a Funeral doom musical band from Finland that was formed in 1995 as Raven. They changed their name in September 1998. The band's music, which can be described as slow, monotonous and trance-like, is composed using a flute and violin, with very slow drums and grinding guitar chords. Shape of Despair's music is somewhat like that of Skepticism, but more dreamy and trance-like. The band is signed to Spinefarm Records.
