Section 25 were formed in Blackpool, Lancashire, UK in November 1977. Initially they were a duo, consisting of brothers Larry Cassidy (guitar, vocals) and Vincent Cassidy (electronics). In June 1978 they were joined by Phil (no surname listed) on guitar and made their live debut. The following November, Paul Wiggin replaced Phil on guitar. Their debut 7", "Girls Don't Count", was released in 1980 on Factory Records, produced by Ian Curtis and Rob Gretton. All of Section 25's releases would subsequently be released on Factory. Their debut LP, Always Now, was released in 1981. In the early 1980s they toured Europe with New Order. In 1982 they were joined by Lee Shallcross on drums and released their second LP, The Key Of Dreams. In 1983, Shallcross was replaced with Angela Flowers (vocals, keyboard) and Jenny Ross (vocals, keyboard). Their 1984 LP From The Hip was produced by Bernard Sumner of New Order. Their final LP, Love And Hate, was released in 1986.
