Red Warszawa is a Danish heavy metal band. "Warszawa" is how one says Warsaw, the capital of Poland in Danish. When the band was formed in 1987 they were not aware of the fact that Warsaw was not called Warszawa in English, which, according to guitarist Heavy Henning, is due to the lack of intelligence in the band. This has led to misunderstandings, because Red Warszawa in Danish means "rescue Warsaw". Vocalist "Lækre" Jens is notoriously known for not being able to sing. Their lyrics are upbeat or neutral (not "doom and gloom" metal) and oftentimes politically incorrect. All of their songs except a few are in Danish; to mention a couple: Die Brügge, Aldi, Prost, Messerman (German), Den Dystre Staden, Liberte (Swedish), and Red Warszawa (English).
