RBD is a Mexican pop-rock music group that grew popular from a prime-time telenovela on Televisa called "Rebelde" (hence the name). This telenovela has been picked up for a second season, which is uncommon for its genre, highlighting the show's success. The script was originally written in Argentina called "Rebelde Way" which emerged the Argentinean Pop sensation - Erreway, but it was remade and revised to make it appeal more to the whole Latin American market. RBD includes six of the most popular characters (or rather, the actors who played them) from the show, who peform all of the music used on the show, including its opening theme. The group (and show) is particularly popular among high school students, but is widely watched by the young masses. The group's members are: Anahí, Dulce María, Maite, Alfonso, Christopher, and Christian.

OCESA (a Mexican entertainment company) released a list of the fastest selling concert tickets in Mexico in 2005. Almost all of the artists were American and European, RBD was the only Mexican group to make the top 5 list.
