Pray For The Soul Of Betty is the New York City rock band consisting of Michael Hamboussi (drums), Joao Joya (guitar), Constantine Maroulis (lead vocals), and Craig Taylor (bass). Maroulis joined the then nameless band as the lead vocalist in 2003. When creating songs, Taylor and Maroulis contribute the lyrics, while Hamboussi and Joya contribute the melodies. Pray for the Soul of Betty received its name after the death of one of the band member's relatives.

The band toured heavily around the United States and a few other countries (including Japan), simultaneously with a 2003-2004 traveling production of the play Rent, in which Maroulis played Roger Davis. Maroulis was asked to leave Rent after giving insufficient attention to his role and too much to the band.
