Playa Fly is a rapper from the infamous South Parkway in south Memphis. Fly was at one time a member of the Three 6 Mafia, but left in 1995 in a dispute over money and decided to follow a solo career. Playa Fly signed with Super Sigg Records and became independent. Fly is known from being one of the first rappers from Tennessee to release CDs.

In 1996, Playa Fly released his first album Fly Shit. The album had songs such as "Nappy Hair & Gold Teeth", "Da Show", "Crownin' Me", "Flizy Comin' (Triple Bitch Mafia Pt. 2)" and "Work To Do". It included other artist such as Gangsta Blac, Bill Chill, ICK, D-A-V and Shauntay.
