Patrick Martin Stump (born on April 27, 1984 in Glenview, Illinois) is the lead singer and guitarist of the rock band Fall Out Boy.

Stump was originally a drummer; when he joined Fall Out Boy he had never sang for a band before, or had singing lessons. He first met Joe Trohman (who is now the guitarist in Fall Out Boy) at a Border's bookstore when he overheard Joe talking about the band Neurosis, in whom he was also interested. Soon after that, Pete Wentz (bassist of Fall Out Boy) met Patrick at his house to audition for Wentz's new project, a pop-punk band. He sang "Through Being Cool" by Saves the Day. He was accepted and the band was formed.
