Nosferatu are a British goth rock band that formed in 1988. They were founded by guitarist Damien DeVille, who is the one constant among numerous lineup changes. Originally featuring a female vocalist named Sapphire Aurora, the band would change vocalists several times before Louis DeWray filled the position in 1991. After several one-off releases, they released their debut album, Rise, in 1993. DeWray before the followup could be recorded, and was replaced by Niall Murphy. The second album, The Prophecy, was released in 1995. Murphy left shortly after it's release, to be replaced by Dominic LeVay. Founding bassist Vlad Janicek also left, to be replaced by Dante Savarelle. Prince of Darkness was release in 1996, but for the next album, the band had switched bassists yet again, as Doc Milton replaced Savarelle. This configuration of the band released Lord of the Flies in 1997. A remix album was released in 1999, followed by a live retrospective in 2000. The current lineup sees the return DeWray, along with bassist Six and drummer Eddie Evil. A new album, tentatively titled The Long Lost Weekend, is scheduled for a 2006 release.
