Nick Carter (born Nickolas Gene Carter on January 28, 1980 in Jamestown, New York, USA) is a member of the popular music boy band the Backstreet Boys and is generally considered the biggest heart-throb in the group.

His mother, Jane Spaulding, is a Mayflower descendant of Welsh, Irish, German, English and 1/4 Blackfoot Indian ancestry, while father Robert Eugene Carter is of Jewish heritage. Carter's parents are divorced and his father remarried Ginger Elrod on April 1, 2004.
