Maurice Joshua (stage name Maurice) was a dance music vocalist and producer from Chicago Illinois specializing in acid house tracks. He is best remembered for the song This Is Acid (A New Dance Craze), which spent two weeks at #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart in 1989 and was one of the first big songs of the genre.

Although he continued to release underground dance tracks, he did not chart any more singles after his first big hit.
