Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg (born June 5, 1971 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an American actor, model and singer.

He is from a family one of 9 children and is of Swedish and Irish heritage. He first came to fame as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the New Kids on the Block. After his brother's bubblegum pop group ended, Mark began recording as Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch, earning hits with "Good Vibrations" and "Wild Side" from Music for the People (where he poses with a Saab 9000). His second LP, You Gotta Believe, was a relative failure. He was seen most prominently in a series of underwear ads from Calvin Klein, and would drop his pants as part of musical show. He then began an acting career, earning positive reviews. Among his filmography include Tim Burton's remake of Planet of the Apes, I Heart Huckabees and Boogie Nights. Wahlberg will next appear in Martin Scorcese's The Departed as one of Leonardo DiCaprio's police superiors. He is currently producing the series Entourage on HBO which is loosely based on incidents from his own life.
