Marie Fredriksson is the songwriter and female lead singer of the Swedish bands Strul, Mamas Barn and Roxette. She was born on May 30 1958 in Össjö, Sweden. A couple of years later, her family sold the farm and moved to Östra-Ljungby.

Together with a friend, singer Per Gessle, she started Roxette in 1986. She also has an extensive solo career.
