Machinae Supremacy, sometimes abbreviated to "MaSu", is a band from Luleå, Sweden, that plays a cross between melodic hard rock and bitpop. Their style has been described as a cross between Helloween and the music of the Commodore 64 or SID Metal, and they indeed used a SidStation that features the famous SID chip of that computer. They have released a considerable number of songs for free download on their site, and are strong supporters of the Ogg Vorbis audio format. Their first album, Deus Ex Machinae was released on May 1 2004 and published by the UK-based Music by Design Records Ltd.. The band is currently working on a new album, named REDEEMER, but since Music by Design Records Ltd. ceased to exist the release of REDEEMER has been put off indefinitely. In May, Kahl Hellmer left Luleå. He has been replaced by a new bass player, Johan 'Pallo' Palovaara. In September 2005, a video trailer was released for REDEEMER.
