Mac Powell is the lead singer for the Christian rock band Third Day. He was born Johnny Mac Powell on December 25 1972. Mac grew up around music. With both parents singing and playing guitar he quickly learned as well. While in highschool he met Mark Lee and they quickly became good friends. They were both in a garage band, but then Mac felt God calling him to leave. Weeks later Powell and Lee decided to start their own Christian band. Currently Mac lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and three children.
