Lonestar is an American country music band consisting of Richie McDonald (born Richard Vance McDonald, 6 February 1962, in Mesquite, Texas), Michael Britt (born Michael Wayne Britt, 15 June 1966, in Fort Worth, Texas), Keech Rainwater (born Randy Keech Rainwater, 24 January 1963, in Plano, Texas) and Dean Sams (born Kenneth Dean Sams, 3 August 1966, in Garland, Texas).

The group began having major country hits in 1995, with the Top Ten hit "Tequila Talkin'." Their first #1 hit was the follow-up, "No News", which spent three weeks at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in 1996. In 1997, lead singer Richie McDonald sang a duet with Mindy McCready called "Maybe He'll Notice Her Now"; the song peaked at #18.
