Linda Maria Ronstadt (born July 15 1946) is an American singer most closely associated with the country rock genre prevalent in the 1970s. She has also been notably associated as an interpreter of other songwriters' works and has been credited with singing in sometimes extraordinarily diverse genres ranging from more traditional country to rhythm & blues, from new wave to opera to mariachi.
