Kele Okereke (b. October 13, 1981) is vocalist and guitarist with British rock band Bloc Party. He and Russell Lissack formed Bloc Party (formerly known as The Angel Range, Diet, and Union) and later recruited Gordon and Matt, respectively on bass and drums. He met Lissack in 1998 in Essex, where Lissack had grown up and Okereke attended school. They bumped into each other again in 1999 at the Reading Festival and soon after formed the band Union. In 2003 they changed from Union to Bloc Party.

At odds with most rock and roll stars, he is a shy and private person, considered to be more intensely focused upon his music than his media image. He is notoriously difficult to interview as journalist after journalist has discovered. "Why is it important to know what I had for breakfast?" he demanded of Skyscraper magazine earlier this year. "Or who I went to bed with? Or what sneakers I am wearing? If it's relevant to understanding my music, then so be it. But if it's purely to satisfy the media's obsession with celebrity, then no thanks. I don't want to play that game."
