Julian Casablancas (born August 23, 1978) is the lead vocalist of the band The Strokes.

Julian is the son of the founder of Elite Model Management John Casablancas and Jeanette Christiansen, a Danish model who was Miss Denmark in 1965. His parents divorced when he was young, and he attended boarding school at Institut Le Rosey and later on at Dwight School in New York City. Julian and Nikolai Fraiture became friends when they were very young. He met another band member Albert Hammond Jr. at Le Rosey, and when he transferred to Manhattan's elite Dwight School, it was there he met the rest of the group, Nick Valensi and Fabrizio Moretti. He is referred to in the title of Courtney Love's song, "But Julian, I'm a little older than you".
