Jonne Valtonen, a.k.a. Purple Motion, was the lead composer for Future Crew, the most widely popular demo group of the 1990s. He won multiple awards for his work throughout the demoscene. Some of his best known MOD tracks are UnreaL II (Second Reality) and Satellite 1. He is from Finland and was born in 1976. He selected the pseudonym "Purple Motion" because he was a fan of British rock group Deep Purple and thought it would sound good combined with "motion".

After Future Crew disbanded in the mid-90s, Valtonen continued to compose songs, doing some commission work for computer and video games and wrote the scores for several stage plays.
