H.O.T. was the most popular K-pop group of the late nineties. A five member boy band, they enjoyed massive success alongside the likes of Fin. K.L., S.E.S. and Shinhwa. Like many Korean bands, their name is an acronym - H.O.T. standing for "High-five Of Teenagers".
Formed by SM Entertainment, produced by Lee Soo Man, their songs are a mixture of rap and ballads, with singer Kangta providing most of the ballad vocals. They were a talented group- by the 3rd album "Resurrection", they had written most of their own songs, and the last two albums after that ("Iyah", and "Outside Castle") they had become masters of writing and composing all their own songs. They were all talented dancers- Moon Hee Jun and Jang Woo Hyuk choreographing all their songs. Also they were the first K-pop group to ever hold a concert in the Seoul Olympic Stadium because of the magnitude of their fanbase.
