Hanatarashi (ハナタラシ), meaning The Snot Nose(d) in Japanese is a noise music band created by Boredoms frontman Yamatsuka Eye and featured Zeni Geva guitarist Mitsuru Tabata in 1984 after meeting as stage hands at an Einsturzende Neubauten show. They are notorious for their dangerous live shows where gas drums are thrown at the audience, beer bottles are thrown around, and once an (already dead) cat was cut in half. At one show, Yamatsuka Eye managed to cause around $60,000 worth of damage by driving a forklift through the venue's wall.
