Greg Lake

Greg Lake (born November 10, 1947 in Dorset, England) is a British bassist, guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer. Lake was a founding member of the original incarnation of the British group King Crims

Greg Lake (born November 10, 1947 in Dorset, England) is a British bassist, guitarist, vocalist, songwriter and producer. Lake was a founding member of the original incarnation of the British group King Crimson, and was an eponymous member of the supergroup Emerson, Lake and Palmer. He also toured briefly with the group Asia in 1985 as well as having two solo albums and a tour in the early '80s. The albums were "Greg Lake" (1981) and "Manoeuvres" (1983).

As a solo artist, Lake became well known for his Christmas hit, "I Believe in Father Christmas" in 1975, which incorporated the "Troika" from Sergei Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije in its backing track. Other hits include "C'est la vie" (Works, vol. I), "Still... You Turn Me On" (Brain Salad Surgery) and "From the Beginning" (Trilogy).
