Gorguts

Gorguts is a very technical death metal band from Quebec, Canada. The were formed in 1989. The band went on hiatus when drummer Steve MacDonald committed suicide during the third week of October 2002. In 2005, Luc Lemay posted a statement

In 2005, Luc Lemay posted a statement on the website, in which he announced that the band split up.

Their album Obscura is considered to be one of the most complex and chaotic death metal creations, partially due to the bizarre, multi-layered dissonant harmonies and partially because the lengths of the individual riffs can make their patterns difficult to pick out on a first listen.
