Geoff Tate is the vocalist for the progressive metal band Queensrÿche. He was born on January 14, 1959 in West Germany. Shortly after his birth his family relocated to to the Seattle area in Washington. Tate joined Queensrÿche in 1981 and in 1982 the band released their self produced and self titled debut EP. In 2002 Tate released his first, and to date only, solo album. The album, which was self titled, was released by Sanctuary Records. Tate is currently on tour with Queensrÿche, for their “An Evening with Queensrÿche” production that features a complete performance of their critically acclaimed 1988 album, Operation: Mindcrime. Geoff Tate has a four octave vocal range.
