Dwele is a soul singer, songwriter and producer from Detroit. Born Andwele (translated from Swahili means "God has brought me") Gardner. His debut album, Subject, was released in 2003 through Virgin Records. Dwele has been collaborating with fellow Detroit group Slum Village. He followed up his first album with the 2005 album Some Kinda released on October 4, 2005.
