Douglas Payne (born November 14 1972) is the bass player and backing vocalist of Scottish rock band Travis.

Payne was born in the south side of Glasgow and was a student at the Glasgow School of Art where he met singer Francis Healy; at the time, Payne had never played a guitar before. They teamed up to form Glass Onion (named after a Beatles song), later renamed Travis. As of 2005, the band consists of Payne, Healy, Andy Dunlop and Neil Primrose.
