She was the lead vocalist for The Cranberries for thirteen years before she left the band in persuit of a solo career in 2003. Born the youngest of seven on September 6 1971 in Ballybricken, Ireland, she tried out for a band called the Cranberry Saw Us (later changed to the Cranberries) in 1990.
