David Ball is a British musician who was part of the Synth-Duo, Soft Cell, formed in Leeds in 1980, with vocalist Marc Almond. Soft Cell are one of the most popular Synth Pop artists from the 80's. David Ball's synth sounds can still be heard on television and radio today.

He has worked on a number of projects with other musicians, including Other People (with his wife Gini Ball & Andy Astle) English Boy on the Love Ranch, Ornamental (with Rose McDowall of Strawberry Switchblade, Einar Örn Benediktsson of The Sugarcubes, and Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson) Love Street (with Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire).
