Violinist Darol Anger has played in dozens of groups since he first rose to fame playing second fiddle to David Grisman in The David Grisman Quintet's 1977 debut. He has also played with the Turtle Island String Quintet and frequently with DGQ alum Mike Marshall.

Using classical and acoustic music as a spring board, he currently plays with Republic Of Strings, The Duo (with Mike Marshall), Psychograss (the bluegrass supergroup including Mike Marshal, mandolin; Todd Phillips, bass; David Grier, guitar; and Tony Trishka, banjo) Fiddlers Four (with Michael Doucet, Bruce Molsky, violins; and Rushad Eggleston, cello) and also plays frequently with pianist Phil Aaberg. Anger's resume is a who's who list of modern acoustic music, he has played with Stephane Grappelli to Bela Fleck.
