Danny Kirwan (born May 13, 1950) is a musician best known for his role as guitarist, singer and songwriter with the rock band Fleetwood Mac.

Daniel David Kirwan was something of a teenage prodigy when it came to playing guitar, and it was while he was playing in London with one of his first bands, Boilerhouse, that he came to the attention of Fleetwood Mac. He joined the band in August 1968, expanding it to a five-piece with three guitarists, and he first appeared on the huge instrumental hit "Albatross". His contributions came to the forefront on the mid-1969 album Then Play On where he split the songwriting and lead vocal duties equally with Peter Green, and most of the performances featured their dual lead guitars. Green left in 1970, but Kirwan's songs remained a focus of the band until his departure after 1972's Bare Trees. Kirwan shouldered much of the songwriting responsibility during a troubled period for the band, while there were changes in the line-up. The pressure showed in his health and he suffered problems with alcohol, things coming to a head during the summer of 1972, when he left the band.
