Charlotte Hatherley (born June 20, 1979) is a British singer and guitarist. She is most famous as the guitarist for Ash though she had been playing in the obscure British punk band Nightnurse for 2 years. Nightnurse was formed by Ellyot Dragon after her former band Sister George broke up. Charlotte was 16 when she joined Nightnurse and later said that Dragon taught her how to be a rock star. Ash frontman Tim Wheeler was present at a Nightnurse gig and thought she would be a welcome addition to Ash. Hatherley's first major appearence with Ash was at the V97 Festival and later that year she made her recording debut with Ash on the single "A Life Less Ordinary" and then on 1998's Nu-Clear Sounds and some of the songs she wrote around this time where used as B-sides.
Her debut solo album Grey Will Fade, named after a B-side she had written, was released in 2004. She has released the singles "Bastardo", "Kim Wilde" and "Summer".
