Chamillionaire (pronounced "Ka-millionaire," born on November 28, 1979) is a rapper from the northside of Houston, Texas, specifically Acres Homes, who also uses the names The Mixtape Messiah and King Koopa professionally. He was born to a Muslim father and Christian mother and was raised in both faiths (he is currently a Christian). He is known for his ability to effortlessly change tempo and rhyme scheme of his rapping within a single song, and for the rapid, clear, and distinct quality of his delivery and voice. He is regarded by many hip-hop fans as one of the most lyrically talented emcees in the South, and has publicly stated that his aim is to prove that the South can produce New York-quality lyricists. He is also a talented hook writer and usually sings and harmonizes with himself (using double-tracked vocals) on his own hooks. In 2005, Chamillionaire signed a record deal for with Universal Records. His first major solo release is entitled The Sound of Revenge, and is scheduled to appear in September 2005. The album's lead single is entitled "Turn It Up" and is produced by Scott Storch, who produced the #1 hit single "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent.

Born to a Muslim father and Christian mother, Chamillionaire's family moved to Houston when he was only 4 and settled on the North Side. His father was determined to keep his children on the straight and narrow path and the legacy of that strict upbringing remains to this day. “My Father never supported my desire to be a rapper when I was growing up, so to hide what I was doing from him, I would write all of my rhymes in the messiest handwriting possible.” He reminisces. “If he would ever look at what I was working on, I would always tell him it was schoolwork. He couldn’t question me because the writing was illegible, except to me. It’s a habit I’m stuck with even now.” Chamillionaire did go on to complete 2 years at The University of Houston but withdrew to fully concentrate on his music career.
